How to Proceed: The activities below are designed to build on each other. They will introduce you to the guidelines and how to apply them to evaluate or develop a Web Enhanced Lesson. We suggest you go through each of the activities below in order from the top down.

Provide learners with an opportunity to explore examples and resources for the Guidelines

The Pedagogy of Web Enhanced Lessons
2 hours

Learners will explore aspects of good instructional design

Learners will develop ideas for incorporating elements of good instructional design into their own educational modules

Section 3: Content for Web Enhanced Lessons
2 to 3 hours

Learners will explore and identify web based content appropriate for their own educational modules

 

Review:

Activity:

  • Spend some hours visiting sites relevant to your content area. Identify and bookmark sites that may be useful in development or enhancement of your own lessons.
Section 4: Technology of Web Enhanced Lessons
1.5 hours

Learners will explore examples of tools and technology available for use in online educational modules

  • Review some examples of online tools and technologies above. Register and test them out.
Section 5: Using the Guidelines
3 hours

Learners will observe how to apply the Guidelines in evaluating a web enhanced lesson or online educational module

Learners will review web enhanced lessons and online educational modules using the Guidelines
